Job Summary:
Assist in the initiative to strategically apply continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methodologies throughout the plant and act as a lean champion to drive a lean enterprise culture throughout the organization.  Responsible for the deployment and coaching of Lean strategies through the Value Stream.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with Lean Manager, and other stakeholders to support operations through the Lean Journey.
Impact the development, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of efficient manufacturing processes and workflows.
Organize, implement, and maintain production process flow
Suggest hands-on process improvements using a combination of Lean Manufacturing with a focus towards optimizing labor resources and systems, flow creation, 5S and waste reduction
Improve existing operations for increased quality, productivity, efficiency, and cost savings
Facilitate value stream mapping
Investigate operational problems affecting production and reporting and recommending solutions
Provide manufacturing data (production control charts, reliability, process capability, etc.) to improve the process and monitor and measure progress to target outcome
Organize meetings with other team members to facilitate growth
Assist in identifying ways to reduce production inefficiencies through recommendations. (new processes, elimination of waste, machinery enhancements, etc.)
Provide assistance with the development and documentation of KPI’s and systems designed to sustain and drive continuous improvement using Carpenters
Adhere to lean manufacturing processes and emphasize continuous improvement
Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
Responsible for the deployment and coaching of Lean strategies through the Value Stream.
Execution of lean manufacturing related activities, processes, and plans.
Indirectly train, and develop production and professional staff on new projects where there is a need to drive greatest improvement in safety quality and product consistency for the facility providing positive impact to plant driven metrics.

Qualifications:
2-4 years of continuous improvement or lean experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and/or related Scientific field with strong understanding of lean, TPM, 6S, Six Sigma, etc.
Two years industrial work experience to include continuous improvement, process improvement preferably within a FDA regulated plant environment.
Candidate must have a solid understanding of product quality and waste reduction and experience in understanding product integrity required.

Physical Requirements:
Lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Bend, stoop, and carry
Repeating motion that may include wrists, hands, and fingers

Work Hours & Schedule:
Exempt Position
Minimum of 40-45 Hours Week, or other agreed upon documented schedule
Ability and willingness to work from all BioSpectra facilities
