JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:  Room Attendant

JOB SUMMARY:  Performs the daily cleaning of guest rooms, guest cottages, and Inn.  Completes all tasks in accordance with the guideline for performance standards and safety established by the housekeeping department.

REPORTS TO:  Executive Housekeeper

PRIMARY DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

  1. Greets all guests with proper salutation.
  2. After training, ability to clean guest’s rooms to meets Skytop’s standards.
  3. Meet the high standards for the cleanliness and appearance of guestrooms.
  4. Responsible for completing at least 15 guestrooms and making 30 beds per day.
  5. After training, ability to use equipment, household type vacuums, dust mops and

High dusters.

  1. Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

SKILLS REQUIRED:  Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  None required.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE: None required.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:  Must have ability to read, write, understand and speak the English language.

PERSONALITY REQUIREMENTS:  Congeniality, self-motivated, good people skills, strong ability to adapt and accept changes.

RESPONSIBLE FOR:  Section keys, supplies, equipment and checklists.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Must have the ability to work steadily all day at tasks that require walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending and kneeling.  Must have the ability to maneuver a large supply cart.  Must be able to complete a daily schedule, which normally includes 10 to 15 guestrooms and bathrooms and sofa beds.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:  Schedule includes weekends and holidays.  Workday usually begins at 7:30am and ends when scheduled rooms are completed.  Work takes place in lodge and Inn guestrooms.

HAZARDS ENCOUNTERED:  Some cleaning agents and chemicals may be hazardous if improperly used or if contact with skin, eyes or clothing occurs; some heavy lifting, bending and kneeling.  Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens.
