Job Summary:
Provides basic nursing care to patients and assists with maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Supports patient care throughout nursing areas, and is responsible for the safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services. Provides the services of a watcher for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation in order to maximize his/her safety. Performs clerical duties in order to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.

Education – Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Technical School Diploma Combined with Nursing Assistant Training obtained from college, trade school, or medical facilities.

Education – Preferred:

  • Associate’s Degree Enrolled in an ADN program

Experience – Required:

  • 1 year Satisfactory completion of an approved nurse’s aide/assistant program or direct patient care experience in an acute care, sub acute or home care setting under direct supervision of a LPN and/or RN.

Experience – Preferred:

  • 1 year Student enrolled in an approved RN or LPN program with completion of nursing fundamentals

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – Required:

  • Astute observation skills to monitor patients physical and mental health.
  • Ability to follow set rules and protocol.
  • Ability to interact with stakeholders (patients, family, staff, providers, payors, and community).
  • Time management and organizational skills with limited supervision.

Licensure – Preferred:

  • CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant Upon Hire
