Emergency / Absentee Backup:
Summary of Duties & Responsibilities: This position is responsible for packaging, labelling and preparing finished goods for shipment. This position is also responsible for sifting in-process material, cleaning and house-keeping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performance Expectation: Packaging finished goods product and weighing product containers to ensure that the weight meets product specifications.
Labelling & Prep for Shipment
Performance Expectation: Sealing and placing correct labels on finished goods product and palletizing /preparing product for shipment.
Performance Expectation: Sifting in-process material in accordance with standard operating procedures/work instructions for the product.
Cleaning & Housekeeping
Performance Expectation: Clean components, process equipment and the production room, per procedure, in preparation for a chemical manufacturing process.
Performance Expectation: Perform quality checks on scale/weighing equipment and inspection of components.
Obtain samples of in-process for material for lab analysis.
Collect and prepare materials and components needed for manufacturing.
Assist Chemical Operators with finished goods sifting, packaging & cleaning
Other duties may be assigned as deemed appropriate by management.
o High school or General Education Degree, or commensurate manufacturing experience, where the candidate can demonstrate the ability to understand written standard operating procedures and work instructions.
o No related experience is required, but would prefer candidates with one to three years’ experience in manufacturing, distribution, packaging or similar industry.
o The ideal candidate will have experience with a GMP manufacturer in the chemical, pharmaceutical, bio-material, food or material manufacturing industry.
Special Skills & Competencies:
o Must be able to understand basic to moderately complex work instructions in English, and be able to read, understand and communicate in English.
o Must be able to pay close attention to details and be able to execute at a high level of accuracy.
o Must be able to perform basic to moderately complex mathematical calculations.
o The ideal candidate will have an aptitude for understanding and basic mechanical principles.
Lift up to 55 lbs.
Climb ladders and/or stairs
Crawl, bend, twist, carry, reach, and kneel throughout shift
Push and/or pull up to 100 lbs.
Stand and/or walk for extended periods
Work with and/or around chemicals and/or hazardous materials
Repeating motion that may include arms, wrists, hands, and fingers
Ability to see and distinguish colors
Work Hours & Schedule:
Hourly Non-exempt Position
4:00 pm to 12:30am Monday to Friday
12:00am to 8:30am Sunday to Thursday
Ability and willingness to work from all BioSpectra facilities
